Solar Panel & HVAC Projects
The installation of 52 solar panels on the roof of EMUC begins on Monday October 24 with the expectation that the work will be completed by the end of the week. Drop by to see the installation!
The total estimated cost of the project is $77,000. Any excess funds will be moved to the HVAC project. A deposit of about $36,000 has been paid and the balance will be paid when the installation is complete.
If your commitment has yet to be received, please send your cheque to the church to the attention of Mike Ogilvie as quickly as possible. It will take 4-5 days to install the panels once the building permit has been received.
As an alternative to making a cash donation, you can make a donation by transferring to EMUC shares that have appreciated in value since they were bought. The church will sell the shares and add the proceeds to the appeal fund. Doing this allows the donor to
a) get a tax receipt from EMUC for the present value of the shares (just like a cash donation), and
b) eliminate the requirement to report a capital gain on their tax return.
Anyone who would like more information on this option can contact Mike Ogilvie at oglivia@sympatico.ca or 905-820-2387.

EMUC Teen Talk Program Seeks Workshop Leaders
The Teen Talk program is seeking volunteers who can facilitate on an occasional or regular basis. We have designed a fun and stimulating program that addresses themes such as: ‘Thanksgiving Traditions’, ‘Beyond the Turkey Dinner’, ‘Fall Fundraising for Foodbanks’, ‘Should Christians be involved in War?’ and ‘Random Acts of Kindness’. Significant effort has been invested in writing curriculum and resources are available to leaders. This is a great way to share your passion or interests with our youth. Contact Roni Beharry (roni@emuc.ca) for further details.
First Sermon at Erin Mills by Joanne Hedge
For those who missed it and those who wish to share it again, we have posted Joanne Hedge's sermon delivered Sunday June 5 on the Sermons page.
Sing Out Loud
Sing Out Loud is a choir group for children from kindergarten to grade 8. They practice Sundays after service during various months. They offer their gift of music during services several times during the year. Please check with the office, or B. Turner for information about when the choir will meet next.

Connecting with Young Adults
EMUC plans various events to gather young adults living in the area, attending post secondary institutions and the newly employed. Please contact the office with phone numbers and/or emails of any young adults you may know so that contact can be made and they can be added to the event notices if they wish. For more information contact the church office.
Out of the Cold Program
We will again be collecting donations of clean, good condition winter outerwear, coats and blankets, hats and mittens, and other items, starting in the fall of 2011. The items will be taken to programs like the Open Door at Square One for distribution of free warm winter wear. Thank you for your support.
