Welcome to our New Minister
On Sunday June 6th the congregation voted to appoint Roni Beharry to the half-time ministry position effective June 22nd. Roni plans to attend the Strawberry Social on Thursday June 24th.  Please take the opportunity to meet her in an informal setting. Thank you to Heather Santamaria who chaired the Joint Search Committee and to all of the committee members for their work on the congregation’s behalf.

Many heartfelt thanks to I. Blackport for his excellence and inspiration as Youth Minister.

Sing Out Loud
Sing Out Loud is a choir group for children from kindergarten to grade 8. They practice Sundays after service during various months. They offer their gift of music during services several times during the year. The choir is currently on break. Please contact B. Turner to be notified when they resume.

Renovations: Church Lighting and Kitchen/Servery
The campaigns have achieved their goals!
Lighting the Way
The eight main hanging lights in the sanctuary (the worship space) will be replaced to create a soft pleasing light for worship and events. Emergency exit lights will be re-fitted with LED bulbs to reduce their cost of operation. New exterior lights over the South and Office entrances will increase safety and security.

Cool the Kitchen
With monies from fire insurance and from the additional $25,000 raised, the kitchen has been rebuilt and restored to be more serviceable than before.

Family Fridays

Join in one Friday a month for family games or movie nights. Households with children & youth are invited to participate in games, activities, watching shows, crafts and trivia.

For more information please contact Robert Ford (email: robert@arfgmarketing.com) or the EMUC office (905-820-4966 / email:office@emuc.ca).

This winter and spring, plan to attend a family night, one Friday each month. Upcoming events include games nights and skating parties.

Need the PAR Authorization form?
Click here to view the PAR Authorization form. You can then print the form and fill it out, if desired. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this form. (Most computers have this software built-in to their internet browser.) You can also pick up a copy of the form at the church. Thank you!

Join the Green Team!
To participate in an ongoing basis in taking positive action on the environmental and climate crises of our time, consider joining EMUC's Green Team.

Nursery Care Enhancement
Nursery care during Sunday service will be provided by a paid employee, rather than by a rotating schedule of parents. If you have questions or comments about this change, please contact N. Sweetnam through the office.

Thatcher Farms
Thatcher Farms visits EMUC about once a month to sell meat and eggs. To ensure they have enough to meet demand, it is best to pre-order. Contact D. Wilson for more information.

Weekly News
To read the weekly news email update, please click on the
Weekly News link. This short letter summarizes some of the upcoming worship and community events.

To sign-up to receive it via email, please send your name and email address to: office@emuc.ca
(For privacy, mass mailings are sent using BCC (blind carbon copy) so that the only email address persons receiving the email can see is their own.)

Multimedia Team Participants
We would like to use our giant screen and multimedia equipment to their best advantage. For example, computer-illustrated and musically-accompanied presentations have been very successful. If you would like to join the team please contact the office to join in.

Connecting with Young Adults
EMUC plans various events to gather young adults living in the area, attending post secondary institutions and the newly employed. Please contact the office with phone numbers and/or emails of any young adults you may know so that contact can be made and they can be added to the event notices if they wish. For more information contact the church office.

Out of the Cold Program
This fall, we will again be collecting donations of clean, good condition winter outerwear, coats and blankets, hats and mittens, and other items. The items will be taken to programs like the Open Door at Square One for distribution of free warm winter wear. Thank you for your support.

Homework Club
The Springfield Gardens Homework Club meets Mondays from 3:30-5:30 during the school year. Youth and adult volunteers are needed to work with children from grades one to six. Please sign-up at the church.

Breakfast Club
The Springfield Gardens Breakfast Club runs during the school year. Volunteers are always needed. Even once a month makes a difference. Please contact the C. Hughes via the church office.

The Club also appreciates donations of breakfast items including: Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix (add water only); table syrup; Kraft Dinner; penne or rigatoni; whole wheat spiral pasta (not spaghetti); pasta sauce; parmesan; Cheerios; Raisin Bran; individual packs of oatmeal; vegetable oil; ketchup; salt; strawberry jam; Nestles Powder Hot Chocolate; vinegar; bleach; dish soap; dishwasher soap; etc.

Deacons' Cupboard
This food support group helps over 200 families each month, including many children. Current needs include granola bars, oatmeal, oat cereal, apple juice and 1 litre bottles of cooking oil.

The hours of operation are every Wednesday from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm and the last Monday of the month from 5:30 until 7:30 pm.

A fundraising volunteer or volunteers is also needed. This person would contact corporate donors and set up fundraisers to help keep the Cupboard operating. For more information, please contact B. Morrow via the office.
